Phase Types

New Moon

Conjunct, 0° ahead of the sun

New Moon rises and sets with the Sun.
Sun and moon are conjunct (0 degrees apart). They are
conjunct every time there is a New Moon. Moon will remain in its New phase until it travels 45 degrees away from the sun, then it will go into its crescent phase. Moon is invisible two days before and two days after it is New. Old cycles end and new ones begin. We engage in new beginnings, start new activities, and have a feeling of immense possibility. The New Moon is the Moon of Illumination. During this phase we are spontaneous, on a journey of self-discovery. Our energy is emerging.
